It took me a while but I finally got the head...

It took me a while but I finally got the head off. It is indeed a cracked cylinder. See attached photo - I guess I am looking for a new engine

I have a bad feeling that it is the cylinder wall. I won't know for sure until I remove the head, which I will do at the weekend. If it is cracked, I just don't know how it could have happened.

I didn't have any problems installing the valve stems seals, or had it overheat anytime. Time to take the head off and take a look. I'll let you know how it goes - thanks for the help.

Here's what I did - I removed the spark plug from cylinder number 1, briefly started the car and definitely water/coolant came squirting out. I did the same for cylinder 2, 3 and 6 and no water....

Motronic - by the way, it took me several weekends to do this after it rained. So it was probably sitting for three weeks with water in the oil. Here's a picture of the oil I just took out. 490005
