Transmission temp monitor

INPA is the best thing. It will show you the transmission temperature and tons of other diagnostics stuff. This is what they use (or used to use) at the bmw factory

OK, my repair kit worked for 2 years. Lock broke again. Ordered another same kit from the same seller. For 2 years I've been using the lock ONLY, no remote. So this is how long it lasts - 2 years.

Same here. Replaced my VCG at 74K with Goetze gasket set. Now the car has 123K and the VCG is leaking again. So lasted for some 50K. And Goetze is supposed to be OE :tsk:

Great idea, will probably call the mechanic I know personally and I know he uses somebody who comes to his shop. At least if the job is not perfect he'll be there to back me up and so on.

Make sure your battery is good, get the specific code from the transmission module, if you already ordered that sensor go ahead and replace it. Do not forget to reset the errors in the transmission...

A lot of people seem to give them bad review...

A lot of people seem to give them bad review specifically for using aftermarket glass and trim that fits poorly. A lot probably depend on the tech that does the job too.

what software do you use to read codes? a generic obd 2 scanner is useless for transmission codes, you need a bmw specific software to read the tranny module. Meanwhile clean your MAF sensor plug.
