There is a U shaped tool you can pick up that can be inserted into these holes. Once inserted, give it a good yank and the radio unit will come out

that water pump is a bitch to get off lol i pretty much every other component...

Basic hand tools, jack stands = 3 - 4hrs

First timers, take as much time as you need and don't rush this!...

Clean, degrease, sanpaper (key) the surface, primer, key, primer, paint, paint, paint.

That will get you around not painting them every 2weeks - 2 months.
