Yup, now that it is confirmed there is no relay, it has to be the blower motor.
What is confusing is the relay/fuse thread that Bluebee started (god bless her) has a relay listed for the blower...

So my BMW tech friend says only the very early E39s had a relay for the blower motor, that was his confusion. He says if I order the blower motor, he will swap it out for me in a couple hours or so....

I used Liqui Moly engine flush at around 85k...

I used Liqui Moly engine flush at around 85k miles and a short time later developed a rear main seal leak. I cannot guarantee that was the cause, but never used the stuff again. ;)

+1. I replace oil and filter every 7500 miles since new. It works out almost perfectly that I land on yellow or red at 15,000 miles for the reset. Just checked, I'm at 266,710 miles today. ;)

I agree with the others, this is a non factory add on, most likely for a radar/laser detector of some sort. You may be able to trace the rest of the wires in the engine compartment up to somewhere...
