Maybe the previous owner swapped them out thinking using a higher K value would give them better lighting. Changing out to say a 6000k Chinese bulb will not have anywhere near the lumens of the stock...

That's question only you can answer. For less than the cost to have it done, if you have a windows laptop, buy the cable to do it yourself and a bunch of other stuff that the dealer can't even do.
