I saw that too but the DMTL pump is for diagnostic purposes, not control purposes, right?
DMTL =Diagnostic Module Tank Leakage. And the DMTL is connected to and controlled by the ECM. Worth a shot.

The Bentley manual says to replace it every four years. You can check the OFHG from the top and you replace the belt, tensioner and idler pulley from the top.

Your 2008 has the connector for the sensor. The sensor comes with the alarm kit. The kit is less than $300 and is an easy install. The dealer has to code it though.
