If you have a way to put a pressure gauge on fuel rail, that may give you a clue if your fuel pump is dying. Lack of fuel will set those codes

Vac leak is not going to cause the no crank , no start condition. There is something losing contact somewhere.

Smoke test it. You most likely have a vac leak like cabover stated. The oil separator and related hoses may be the culprit. On some occasions the fuel pump can cause those codes also.

Can you take pictures of these holes you are talking about. If there's holes and engine is seized then maybe the engine blew a rod or 2. So if that's the case, your gonna need a new engine

If I remember correctly, you have to remove the hazard light switch and there is a screw there. You have to remove the cover to get to ash tray from bottom I believe.

The engine mounts usually affect the 540 more than the 6cyl. The only thing I can think of is that the fan you are getting is a total piece of crap. Get bmw fan and make sure your tech is putting...

Get it smoked like edjack stated. You have a major air leak. Maybe your intake to head gaskets have air leakage which it's a possibility. Also code 1188-1189 could be a fuel pump / pressure issue....

I had rear air suspension , I had to release air pressure on my air bags. So yes I believe releasing tension on spring will help out tremendously

I know this may sound dumb but excuse my ignorance. Since I have aquired this 94 540i, I have been learning some unique things that my e39 528i never needed.
I changed the oil on it not to long ago....
