I thought about getting a strut brace for my '98 Z3 2.8L also. I measured the distances between my hood and the top of the engine where the brace would cross over the engine and it was only 5/8 inch....

I didn't think Torsen differentials were purely mechanical and don't have clutch plates to wear out. Also since it doesn't have clutch plates LSD oils and additives aren't need in these differentials.
