IIRC, there is no specific indicator light - rather, low oil alert shows up as a status message within iDrive. (And, I think, also where the 37 degree, fuel range, and etc. warnings show up too.) ...

Hardly ever - I don't care for the twitchy throttle, nor the higher revs. Instead, I'll hit the DSC button once and go into DTC mode. It allows for more movement before the stability and traction...

Yep, totally normal. I don't recall my oil temp ever going over 195 F or so.

All cars take that long to warm up their oil, in fact, but you rarely notice it because they usually report coolant...

Not me. I installed a new set of wheels with snow tires back in Nov, inflated to 32 psi, reset the TPMS, and it's never given a warning since.
