If you disturb those bolts you will create an oil leak,as with any engine learn what to do before you do anything.A good place to start is the Bentley Service Manual.

Thats your check engine light,get the code read and it will tell you which fault was detected.It may also go out on its own with a few drives.

Our Z3 will also do that on a fresh fill up and shortly afterwards,replaced the fuel cap with no difference.Going to check the return lines when I have some spare time.Not completly filling it seems...

I had a catalictic converter come apart inside on a different vehicle,it ratteled only after heating up. Our cats are in the manifolds so you may want to check them with a mech stethascope.
