I have one. It's a lot faster. I think i have the 7201 also. Sometimes it stops before all the oil is out and wont pump anymore though. I guess the capacity isn't really 7 quarts if 6.5 fills it...

True, but their recommendation in the U.S. is based on contract, not performance. BMW's own oil is just another ACEA A3/B3 and LL-01 oil, just as the Mobil 1 is, and about 50 other oils.

Yes, Mobil 1 0w-40 is thicker at 40C and 100C than either BMW oil or Castrol Syntec 0w-30, which are the other two most commonly available LL-01 oils in the U.S.
