Good feedback and your change in size, as you were assured, should not impact xdrive or the electronic assist systems. As long as all four corners are the same (and nothing rubs) you are good to go....

No BMW (AWD or RWD) uses different diameter wheels front and rear. There are a tiny number of cars -- high-perf exotics and the like that have such a fitment.

225/45R-17 and 255/40R-17 have the same diameter and revs per mile/KM.
