Did you look at both sets of fuses in the trunk...above the battery and forward above the battery? My guess though is it is one or more of the ones under the seat.

It is a PITA on our BMW's, but worth the effort...Repeat the filter/fluid change about three times. This will get about 80% of the old stuff out...takes about 4-5 times if the old stuff was real ugly.

I had similar issue. I final purchase a key on ebay and replaced old chip circuit assembly into the new key. It worked. The problem was worn "contacts" on the rubber button piece.

Check the fuse in the trunk...I think it is #69...The one under the hood is marked in the lid. The one in the trunk is on the right side above the battery. There should also be a legend there.
