If it's up on a ramp any mechanic will be able to spot the crunch in 5 minutes or less. I'd bring it to a Indy shop, get the prognosis, order the part cheaper online, and hand it to them for install.

Yes, it matters. He needs the eprom number off the ecu. The ecu and transmission are diff chips.

O2 sensors last 80k miles for Bosch, who invented them. They are likely long past fouled. They aren't terribly difficult to replace, but they are pricey.

But as that is one of the most expensive parts on the car, explore the vac leak first.
