Those wheels will not fit your car without machining. The centerbore on the E39 is 74 mm, for the E60 it is 72.5 mm. That means you have to bore out the inside of the rims before you can get them on.

You need LL-01 oil if you plan to follow BMW's "recommended" 15,000 mile intervals. If you change the oil every 7,500 miles, you can safely run more pedestrian variants.

Don't even think of getting one of the older units. The first few rounds had some serious defects/QC problems. Even the D99+ isn't perfect but it works if you're willing to take the effort to get it...
