the simplicity of paper is why the OEMs rejected oiled foam.... too easy for the average consumer to over oil the filter and then contaminate and ruin the MAF that is right downstream.

I agree... improperly/over oiling the filter will cause trouble but IMO done correctly there is no better filter medium for both trapping dirt and allowing maximum air flow.

Well that is one of the main symptoms they have listed..especially with the A/C on or the alternator pulling extra load with the lights on... the vanos moves to give the engine more and the seals...

the DWS's are great for my kind of driving.... really good in wet and light snow and IMO have good handling in the dry..... Best part is they are QUIET and the treadwear seems to be really good...

only had to do a small amount of trimming on the fan shroud. Air box fit fine and no other mods required.
