I think 540's have the plastic ducting & aluminum...

I think 540's have the plastic ducting & aluminum ducting. Check to see if there's a hole in your inner fender...towards the front of the wheel well....where the air would come in to cool the rotor....

FS: 19" Polished lip AC Schnitzer Type III Racing for E39 ///M

Just back from polisher & re-assembled. Reason for polish...original clear coat was a little "foggy/hazy"...no damage.

The wheels specs are:
19" x 8.5" Fronts ET 15mm
19" x 9.5" Rears ET 21.5mm...

Look for gaps in information.....accidents.

Maintenance is key, a poorly maintained car "lower" miles may be a poor choice when compared to a "higher" mileage car...

BMW recommends not sitting around, and to drive right after starting. High RPMs with cold engine won't be doing your engine any help though. I don't go over 3k until oil is past ~180 degrees...

This really improves handling....typically run with 3mm spacers & 3mm longer lug bolts....you never want to mix up front/rear lug bolts in...

Then I'd be leaning towards a bad temp sensor......if the fix....didn't fix it. I think you can just drain down the coolant level from the expansion tank....by siphoning....& it will be low enough...
