Your statement is true for 2006 and older. 2007 and newer uses individual sensors in each wheel (although some 2006 claimed to have actual wheel sensors installed).

The alternator output on both my X5 and Z4 never went above 13.9V when the car is running. Like other have said, E85/E86 generation Z4s don't require battery registration. If you don't drive it...
