I don't know but mine is Jailbroken but don't have any issues with the cable. May be you may want to try another cable. If you are using a non apple cable it won't work all the time.

I fixed this. It was some thing that was interfering with Bluetooth after jailbreak so I put my phone in safe mode and then paired with the car worked like a charm.
