fob range

In my E39 -540 I can open the doors with the fob from 2-3 car lengths away. With my Z4Mc I have to be right next to the car to open it...with the fob... Seems kind of strange that a 8 year older car...

Why do you suspect the tensioner... 2 years ago I suspected my tensioner in my 99, I replaced it then 3 months later I had ' the rattle' and to do the timing chain guide job...not sure if mine was...

Get a crank

Shaft lock pin for doing timing chain guides or other engine work. then get a 3/4" breaker bar from hf...put a 6 pt impact socket 3/4 drive and ger a 4' piece of 1.5" cast iron pipe...lock it...

Really you're driving a BMW and can't afford $40 for a tow? or even have AAA? The price of the Key $165 locally ( with title and registration) is going to take awhile (normally BMW ships overnight) ...

Yes remove both stabilizer links...then hit the strut tube with 50% acetone and 50% atf mixture (or PB Blaster)...let it sit then with your foot press down on the current hub assy to push the strng...

Just finished mine 2 days ago...get I think it was a 17mm or 16mm open end wrench on the back side then the nut will spin iright off...do NOT apply heat or you'll be replacing the sway bar end...

the longer you drive it the more likely you are going to damage the dmf (dual mass flywheel) the most expensive component of the clutch. In other words you'll go frm $250 in parts to $800 in parts......

I haven't followed this but

the lower timing cover has bolts that come through the bottom of the upper oil pan and bolt into the timing cover...is this what you're referring to? I did mine 4x before I got it right...but it is ...
