May depend on model year, but with a full size spare tire the spare tire sensor needs to be working and pointed towards the right rear tire.

I believe the last water cooled alternators were used on manufacture date of 10/2003. But look at the outer case of the alternator, if it is smooth with no cast-in air passages it is water cooled.
