I have exactly the same problem, also with good...

I have exactly the same problem, also with good switch and no broken plastic. Mine pops the fuse immediately it's turned on.

I'm assuming I (we) have a chafed/worn grounded wire under the seat....

Don't by chance have a power steering fluid leak from one of the PS hoses under the PS reservoir? They have a tendency to leak all over (into) the alternator. Such could very likely cause VR problems...

Realoem seems to report them both as 7mm x 2.50mm...
