There is no reliable way to calculate the the rotational inertia of the drivetrain, wheels and tires. (well you could pull everything apart and carefully measure it, but nobody does this). Without...

Went through the same process.

Just messing with you but... a convertable, nooooo! Ok I am calm now so here's the poop. Lots of people like convertibles, heck I have owned one for 33 years (it sits in my garage 360 days out of...

Are they lighter than the originals? What is the advantage of these over the original or competition package wheels?

Service does not like to top it off because....

Your level is completely OK, about 1/2 liter low (or above the minimum, depends on if you are a half empty or half full kind of guy), so you don't need to do anything. The reason that most dealers...

Remember that on the M3 the autostart feature is off by default (you have to push a button to turn the feature on) so you don't have to use it if you don't want to. And, as I said in my original...

I also considered and test drove c63 amg, lexus isf, s4, ctsV. In addition i considered R8 v10 and Gallardo but decided they were simply too impractical for me (2 seats and no real trunk just...

I have to second what tearex said about convertibles in Texas

I had a convertible for the year I lived in Texas, and there were precious few times when I would have wanted to drive with the top down. Even forgetting for the moment the skin damage you will...

My point is that the performance difference isn't slight.

As I said in my post above; There are surely all sorts of reasons why someone might want a convertible, I have owned a convertible sports car since 1980 but, in the case of the M3 coupe or sedan vs....

Just sayin

I am not suggesting that there is no reason why someone wouldn't want a "top down experience", in fact I have owned a convertable for over 30 years, I'm just saying that the performance difference...

DCT 2011 M3 auto start almost never shuts off engine

I have turned on the autostart feature but I have tried it a couple of times. It seems that between the hot California weather and the DCT being in manual mode most of the time, the autostart...

$150 installed at the dealer.

It may actually have only cost $120, but whatever, it was cheap. I hit mine on a curb when pulling into a parking space while trying to leave room for the car next to me, as they say, no good deed...

I have about 12000 miles on my M3 with competition package, with PS2s. I would guess they will last to nearly 20,000. I will be replacing them with PSSs, which are supposedly significantly more...

I have driven a 335 loaner, as well as the 135 with the M package ( not an M1), and they were both very nice cars. I was particularly impressed with the 135 but after driving a M3 competition...

There is a major performance hit going to the convertable

I just wanted to comment on your comment that the performance loss from the coup and sedan to the convertible is slight. The convertible performs and handles like a completely different car than the...
