Cant fuel vehicle, fuel pump shuts off

While filling my wifes 2008 X3, the fuel pump shuts off and it is difficult to fill the tank. Happened at two different stations, is it a car issue or station issue. It appears it might be an issue...

I did the above but I cut 4 pieces of hard wood to fit in the jacking pads so I wouldnt damage the pads themselves. I lifted it in the rear from that flat black steel near rear differential

It looks very clean, good luck with it. I am curious of service history especially for transmission, waterpump, transfer case, and differentials. How often was engine oil changed?
