Stock shocks are most likely Sachs. The B6 are quite a bit firmer than OE. Many here like Koni FSD for the E9x chassis. Search and you'll see quite a few favorable reviews.

Unless you can find a better viton rubber gasket that might hold up better, this might be a maintenance issue or replace at each filter change perhaps.
