I faced the same dilema when I got my e39. It was either a alpine white sport 530 with navi. Or black on black 540 sport no navi. I knew if I got the 530 I would regret it. I've never loved a car...

I think the manual 540 0-60 in 5.4 and auto/sport does it in 5.7. Different diff in the auto to compensate some in performance.

I've owned my 540 since it had 58k miles. Maybe I'll drain a little and fill. What your saying makes sense to me. I'm just scared to have to replace the tranny afterwards. I do not have deep pockets.

I have an auto. I'm a stick guy though. However the 540 sport with tiptronic trans is pretttg sweet and responsive. I would be scared to supercharge it. It might kill the tranny.

lol your wrong! Its the pieces of metal in the tranny that get flushed out when changing the fluid that causes the issues. I changed my tranny fluid once on another car a week later booom tranny...
