My ASA TM12 has about 30,000 miles on it and has the exact symptoms you report. SuperchargerRebuilds.com say they can rebuild it. I'll post the results when done.

I have Dinan CAI, stage 2 s/w, throttle body, exhaust, stage 1 suspension on my 2003 330i SP 5-speed....

In common parlance, "automatic transmission" refers to a conventional torque converter automatic with a planetary gearset. That doesn't mean other transmission designs have no automatic elements....
