I'm reasonably sure there isn't a hole there from which fluid can leak. It's just a stud that is used to attach the shift linkage.

Wow, I didn't have that much trouble when I removed my auto to swap in the 5 speed. I let the tail shaft way down by removing the crossmember and was able to get it with some LONG extensions.

Absolutely agree. These engines aren't Toyos, they require special tools (expensive ones) and decent amount of experience. We've seen plenty of guys try, and they never seem to run right when done....
