The GPS was changed a year or two after the 2000 model. The screen dimensions changed, and the newer GPS system might have the maps integrated rather than running off CDs.

I put mine on ten days ago (in Albany, NY)

My 2000 M5 handles much better on stock wheels and tires than on snows. Also, any snowfall after mid-March around here melts pretty fast.
