Have you been able to fix it yet? The motor part of the steps says that the seat needs to be removed, but I'm not sure if just tilting the seat back all of the way would do the trick.

The only way you could activate from the front seat is calling it through voice command. I think it's easier to have a passenger do the work on iDrive from the back though
