Yeah... watched that video, but he only talks about replacing the pads... not the rotors. could it be that the shoes are seized to the rotor?

i'm in my garage trying to get my rear brake rotor off. I removed the retaining screw and hit the rotor with a hammer... so far so good. The rotor is now loose and is able to rotate...

Squeaking breaks

Hi folks

I just noticed that my breaks are squeaking for the first few blocks of a trip (even when not engaged). After a couple blocks, the squeaking goes away... usually after I do a stop or 2....

I'm curious about this too. Mine almost sounds like it's whining and the pitch seems to follow the engine noise: i.e. the faster I rev, the higher the tone of the whining.

Is your coolant still leaking? My last car had a coolant leak and it sprayed onto the belts causing an awful screeching sound. Once I fixed that, the screeching went away.

I bought my 2001 325i used last year and it too had a broken rear spring. My dealer said that it's not uncommon to see this. As for your quote... it sounds like typical dealerhip pricing ;) ouch.
