Teenager in the 90's. 30 now. My dream car in high school was a manual Audi S8; reinforced by many viewings of Ronin. I had a poster of a 993 911 Turbo in my locker in high school as well.

In the...

I really like the 2012 Mini Cooper hatch in our garage. It really does handle like a go kart and is the most fun front drive car I've ever driven - and I've driven more than one turbo Saab.

Get the nicest E46 330i you can find with a 6-speed manual. I'd go for a 2003-2005 car. I'm biased, I own one.

It seems as if ZKWs and ALs were used interchangeably on HID equipped cars. I've got an '04 sedan with factory original AL lights, while plenty of other '04 330i sedans came with ZKW lights.

+1

My E46 has 80,000 miles and I plan to drive it for the forseeable future. 250k to 300k maybe? I took a Volvo 940 to 245k and a Subaru Outback to 214k, and the BMW is way more fun than either of...

I see plenty of kid seats in E46 4-door sedans and Tourings. They seem to go well with 1- or 2-kid families around here.

As long as you maintain one well and fix stuff pre-emptively the E46 is...
