Mostly just maintenance/known weak stuff since 80K or so. Original turbos, tranny, etc.

That could very well be a sticky...

That could very well be a sticky caliper...causing that one rotor to warp. I had that problem early on and replaced both calipers.

DO NOT expect the tire guys to be able to diagnose bad control arm bushings...Trust me on this...the only way to tell is to take it to an experienced BMW mechanic (indy or dealer). Those bushings...

You should be able to find someone to do the blasting for under $600 total. It is necessary. +1 on the spark plugs as a DIY...super easy. Amazon has the plugs...usually the best price.

Turned out the noise disappeared when I replaced...

Turned out the noise disappeared when I replaced the front pads so although never officially diagnosed, I am assuming it was a loose/clicking pad or pad backing plate. Good luck with yours.
