You know what's funny Bird? I've always wanted to do a S54 swap into a E46 sedan. So that may just be what I do next instead of a turbo on a 330. It's cheaper and easy for me to come by those swaps.

I agree with what Bird-Dog said 100%. I've lost cars and it sucks... but they're giving you a really big payout for what the car is. I'm actually surprised to be quite honest.

how much could you actually get it repaired for if you shopped around for your own quarter panel and doors? $1,500? might want to just fix it and take the extra money.

Your missing what I said. I also said the the other code is the oil pressure sensor... not oil level sensor. Did you test the wires with a voltmeter? to make sure they're giving the right signal in...

Well those are two codes for oil related...

Well those are two codes for oil related things.... lol thermal sensor and oil pressure sensor. I would replace both and go from there. Although I would test the sensor with a voltmeter first as well...

Your fine. I put one of my M54B30s through hell and it held up through it all. Had the car overheat at least 2 times. Oil pump nut came off and it had a supercharger. Ran just fine.

It's really hard to tell because there are a lot of things that can cause limp mode. The most common I see is the Idler control valve being stuck. It's very to remove and clean.

You may need a true BMW scanning software to really see whats going on. A generic OBD2 scanner might not catch why the car is truly going into limp mode. But the fact you have a bad EVAP unit why not...

It's your level sensor that's sitting at the bottom of the oil pan. Mine went bad on my E46's and I never replaced them. I figured since I had an oil dip stick no need for a sensor or to waste money...

No problem at all!.

Realistically you can grab a instrument cluster from a junk yard if yours is truly broken. For extremely cheap and it'll work fine. Just the mileage reading will be off.
