EML is related to the throttle unit, which explains why you don't have any throttle response. Do some research on EML issues. You may need a new throttle. it's electric on the 2.5i and 3.0i engines.

A '98 will have the 4spd automatic. They are pretty stout boxes despite what you read a lot of on these forums. My '00 Dakar Z has the same trans with 157,000 miles on it and it runs like a champ....

P0306 - cylinder 6 misfire detected, check spark plug and coil.
P1250 - This one is vague it could be any number of things....

I just change the plastic fan every 80K miles and I've not had an issue. The Fan is only $32.00. So I don't consider it an exorbitant expense.
