Really?

The service on the BMW is no charge during warranty. An oil change on my 911 is $325.00. I have owned 5Porsches ( 3-911's and 2 Boxsters ) and anytime you let the dealer touch them it is a fortune....

Have both a 2013 Diesel GL 350 and 2013 X5D....

Have both a 2013 Diesel GL 350 and 2013 X5D. Inside the MB is much quieter but I like both! The BMW sounds like a diesel truck and I love it and the MB sounds like a luxury truck and love it. Lucky...

I have to comment on this

I think both the Toureg and the Cayenne Diesels are superb and personally I would love to drive a new Cqayenne Diesel. I bought a 2013 X5D instead. Why?

I own a 911 as a toy. Every service ( car...

My favorite subject

My 2011 X3 and my 2013 X5 have brake dust piling on sitting still in my driveway. Seriously the new X5 wheels turn black in two days. I use Rejex which helps.

I love the sound

Just posted in another thread. 2013 X5 and I love it at idle, and light acceleration. Sounds just like a diesel should. On hard acceleration you are hard pressed to know it is a diesel.

Now my...

I stuck with the standard 18"

I was afraid the 19 and certainly the 20" would ride like rock crushers around NYC.

By the way I just averaged 30 mpg yesterday on a 240 mile trip from Maryland back to long Island with a number...

Since new my 2013 is around 24.7 mpg

That is NYC and suburban driving with quite a bit of NJ Turnpike. I do not have a heavy food. I see no difference between Exxon/Mobil and Sunoco mileage.

I love talking about brake dust. Both my...

Again I hear those who say you pay for the BMW service in its price. Well let me tell you the price of the Porsche should include it as well. Everything is optional. Again I love Porsche's but owning...

Practical thoughts

I own a gorgoeus 2010 911 ( my sixth Prosche ) but my everyday ride is a new 2013 X5 Diesel.

Very simple why I would not consider a Cayenne Diesel: Porsche dealer that i bought my 911 from has 6...

Mine was delivered April 2011

3.5i. It has been great! Actually trading it in in a few weeks for a 2013 X5 Diesel. Whoever gets my car will be thrilled.

I keep them on the high side

Just before the cold snap I had them at 35 in front and 39 in back. When it dropped to about 14 degrees they were closer to 32.5 and 37.

It rides slightly harder but it isnt noticeable to a normal...

I am shocked by some of these posts as

My 2011 has 21,000 miles on its OEM tires in New York with terrible roads and at least 50% of the tread remaining. I never rotated them but I am a sticklet about air pressure. I am really surprised....

Quick Question re 2013 Diesel X5

All,

Ordered a 2013 X5d...trading in my loved 2011 X3 because I figured the deal on the X5 diesel won't get any better. Anyhow does this model have the dreaded (to me) stop/start?

Thanks

Crazy car fixed itself

I got into it last night and it was back to normal with the correct next service date and it measured the oil. Crazy. Guess I will cancel my appointment as they have nothing to look at!

I don't know

Most of my trips in the car are on highway at fairly high speeds so the engine is fully warmed up. Also synthetic oil really doesn't pick up much water.

I think it is a software glitch. The dealer...

That is the first I have heard of this

If I were to try that would I lose all of my current settings and have to go through loading them in again, including radio stations?

Computer glitch re oil level...2011 X3 3.5

Thank you

Good points. I will feel the tire.

There is so much treat remaining I don't want to change them. I just turn the radio up.

Thanks

Tires that "womp"

Loving my 2011 X3 3.5 which has now passed 20,000 miles. While I don't love the run flats they are fine for my everyday driving around NY and NJ. Plenty of tread and normal operation but I hear a...

I cannot resist adding to this thread

I think it is obvious that if you are on this forum you love cars. Not all BMW owners love cars but I would certainly agree that many are enthusiasts.

Enthusiasts would laugh at a two cylider...

Works well in my 2011 3.5.

Note that the temp gauge is oil temperature, not coolant temperature.
