Unlikely. This is an emission control light. Could be as simple as a loose gas cap. Could be a leak in the air intake hoses. If its running good now, it will be a simple repair.

Not true. When sensor is bad, the oil light stays on 15-20 seconds, not three or four. Agree it's an easy fix but expensive part.

Geez, just do the flush. It will clean out your engine to the max before you change the oil. Follow directions and do it. May not help much but won't hurt either, and likely won't ever have to do...

Highly doubt this. Dealerships never work on trannys, they just put a new one in. Easier to do and more money for them. As recommended above, go to a BMW independent shop and get a real diagnosis.
