when my PS pump failed, it took the whole serpentine belt with it and I had to run every stop sign and red light on the two mile trip to my Indy. My symptom was no assist to full assist sporadically...

The temperature gauge needle is buffered so it will stay at the 12:00 position from about 75*C-113*C
