It was 100 degrees today and the AC worked great. Chalk that up for being the cheapest fix I have ever had to make on this car!

I believe I found my problem. Within the bell housing on the back of the engine block there is a fluid passageway. It has a cover with a molded in rubber gasket. That gasket goes bad and leaks...

occry, did it turn out to be the "coolant plate at the rear of the engine block"? I have found my leak today in the same spot you described. I could watch it dripping inside the bell housing.

Well it only took 1 qt to top off the system...

Kaile, If i'm not mistaken the coolant can leak out the weep hole because the dreaded coolant pipe OR the water pump going bad. Maybe you got lucky, maybe not.

Filled it up from the bottom the other day for somewhere around $90! That's a big ouch compared to my CNG cavalier that costs $8.50 ($1.49/gal in UT right now) to fill.
