It looks like it only applies to 328i based on the folks on this thread. Also, it applies to the adjustment unit which is on the end of the camshaft. Doesn't look like it covers the VANOS solenoids...

I just asked the guy at NAPA. He pulled out a one ounce bottle from behind the counter. I didn't notice the brand but it is only one ounce so it won't have a quality effect on your oil.

You can buy Ultraviolet dye at NAPA for about $8. Dump it in your oil and check with a UV light. You will find your leak.

Number 1 if the front of the engine. Front to back is 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6. Like FDriller says, look for oil around the coil from Valve Cover Gasket failure.
