I use regular mobil 1 in mine. only done a couple of oil changes myself but obviously no issue. I change it every 7.5k as well. Just also switched to 10/30 given the warmer climate I leave in.

It could just be water in the sensor ring, so the sensor couldn't correctly detect the teeth correctly. Therefore couldn't generate a good signal. I'd only worry if it happens again.
