My guess is that it's fuel related, could be one of the fuel pumps, pressure regulator, any number of things. You need some step by step diagnostics, a Bentley's Repair Manual would be helpful.

Excellent detective work so far. Good luck and keep in mind most modern oils dont have the ZDDP additive necessary for engines with solid lifters, so you may want to purchase some.
