It's not a bad idea, but the swaybar link won't affect the alignment, so you'll probably have to go out of pocket.

My 08 did that when I first got it too. It's a very subtle sound and my passengers could never hear or feel it. At the time it had new tires on it and now that they've worn in a bit it's gone away....

I agree. I've been meaning to pick one up to have as a spare. I occasionally do 10-12 hour tows, and since they're easy to replace on the side of the road it seems like cheap insurance.

If it's in neutral it does stay in neutral. Presumably so that you can tow it, or at least winch it onto a flatbed.
