I've replaced that part before

I replaced that part myself. It just snaps down into place.
The boot attaches to the underside of the plastic part. It took 5 min. to install

I'm not sure exactly what the dealer did - but it helped.

This is a known problem.

I seem to recall the replacement or addition of an antenna. It was performed under CPO warranty.

That being said, the $30 sirius radio and magnetic antenna...

Just had my oil changed @ BMW of Asheville yesterday - The offical recall notice has not gone out to owners yet. This dealer is not yet set up to make the recall repair.
