What's a valve job and how much should it cost?

All I know is that they need to remove the head and send it off to another shop to get fixed. I'm a noob when it comes to all this so just want to get an understanding of what this job usually...

Never because it's a supposed to be a lifetime fuel filter that doesn't need replacing. If I wanted to change it anyway I'm looking at $6,471.33+labor because it's built into the fuel tank. :bawling:...
