If so you have to remove the kick panel. Ten you remove the aluminum plate behind it. Then you remove the plastic cover right above...

Since you have a M50 in your e28 I would ask engine question in either the e34 or the e36 groups since the e28 never came from the factory with a m50.

Hi, it is a e34 not a e38. Also the tranny dyeing is a common problem. You have the last year of the M50 without vanos which makes it an easier engine. I would suggest just getting rid of the auto...

I understand that but I have parted a few 525i and the brain for the auto tranny was there. It was a major pain to get to but that is where I found it.

Sorry Ron the DME(ECU) has nothing to do with your tranny. There is a brain for the tranny that is behind the passenger side speaker on the floor.
