Vintage42 is correct but camber will only cause minimal wear. The rear toe was off on mine and I installed new adjustable control arm bushings and was able to correct the tire wear problem.

The only keys that have a battery are the ones with a small flashlight built in. In either case the chip does not need battery power to activate the ignition sensor.

The bulges are because the tire structure was damaged when the tire was run flat. It only takes a short distance to render the tire unusable. I agree, that shouldn't cause the air bag to go off.
