what your're looking at is a dc fan run by pulse coded modulation (digital) on/off. the more you turn it on/off the faster it goes. pretty cool for technology. but sucks for troubleshooting or...

I just removed my disa on my 2003 x5 the pin is gone. I was told there is an area in the manifold where the pin can fall an be safely out of the way. The flapper is another story. I took it off....
