I sometimes start in 2nd when there is a lot of snow and traction is at a premium. In cases like that 1st can be almost useless, but I do agree that it feels a little odd starting in 2nd like the car...

I will add, that it does this more in the winter time. In the summer it's almost non-existent. Either way, I have noticed this in my E90 for about 2 years now and it doesn't seem to get any worse...
