I can jump the connectors at the SIR and the engine starts and runs from the key. If I remove the SIR and plug it back in, the car will start (1) time from the key, but never again.

I found a tall yellow relay next to a pair of short pink relays marked 'ABS' hidden in the left footwell. Could this be the starter immobilization relay????? Wouldn't you make the connection here???

Ok!

With the 413 DME and the green wire clipped at the round bulkhead connector, the car starts and runs great when jumped at the starter.

The 'signal' wire on this car at the switch is (large)...

My cell phone takes awful photos, but there isn't a yellow connector anywhere on the driver's side.

There is an aluminum box in the LF kick panel, but looks like cruise control to me....
